This interview was taped in 1999 at the Richmond conference. Ian Wilson is one of the foremost experts on the Shroud. At the time of this interview he had just released his latest book, The Blood and the Shroud. Much of the interview deals with carbon dating and the possibility of it being skewed by a bioplastic coating left by microorganisms. This theory is no longer accepted but at the time of the interview it was an important new consideration.
